BILLERICA – As the legislative summer season heats up, Representative Marc Lombardo (R) and Senator Ken Donnelly (D) reflected on their partnership serving the Town of Billerica on Beacon Hill.

“From my first days as State Representative, Senator Donnelly has been a great colleague.  He and I have always had the same focus – doing what’s best for the Town of Billerica” said Lombardo.  He continued, “Whether it’s funding for the Boys and Girls Club, grants for the VFW Solomon Post, or many other important projects for Billerica the Senator and I team together and have had great success.”

Senator Donnelly recalled the tremendous work done to acquire Massachusetts School Building Authority funding for Billerica High School.  “We worked hard to have Billerica selected by the MSBA.  I can tell you in no uncertain terms, Representative Marc Lombardo was critical to the success of the funding initiative” said Donnelly.  He continued, “The Representative and I met with MSBA leadership in Boston, and Marc also serves on the high school building committee. It was this dedication to the project that gave the MSBA confidence to award Billerica the nearly $73M grant.”

Whether it is funding of the community or constituent services, Representative Lombardo and Senator Donnelly have ensured that the people of Billerica are well served.  “The Senator is a great partner in government.  He is always there to jump in to help on complex issues to ensure that our offices together, are taking care of the residents of this community” Lombardo commented.  Senator Donnelly noted, “The people of Billerica are lucky to have a strong Representative in Marc.  Marc knows how to get things done for Billerica.”

Senator Donnelly’s and Representative Lombardo’s office are working diligently together to complete work on legislation as formal sessions near completion.
