BILLERICA, MA – Representative Marc Lombardo is proud to announce his bid for re-election as State Representative for the Town of Billerica. “I consider it an honor to represent the people of Billerica in the legislature."
"My priorities as a legislator are to be a voice for the taxpayers of Billerica to ensure accountability in state government and to deliver results for our community” said Lombardo. “That’s why I’m so proud of the nearly $150M in state aid I’ve help delivered for Billerica, the $100,000 for the bike path, and over $116,000 for the Boys and Girls Club. I’m proud to have secured $50,000 for our veterans at the VFW Solomon Post and $25,000 for student fields at the Shawsheen Technical High School. Perhaps above all, I’m proud of the $73,000,000 grant I helped secure for Billerica to build a new high school.”
Representative Lombardo was first elected in November of 2010 after serving two terms on the Board of Selectmen. “Over the past six years, I’ve developed great working relationships with leadership in the House and the Senate. That is why I’ve been able to help deliver for the Town of Billerica. In addition, having Governor Charlie Baker in the corner office has been a game changer and I’m proud to call the Governor a friend” said Lombardo.
Marc is a lifelong Billerica resident who is married to Melissa Gonsalves. Marc and Melissa have two children, Guytano (7) and Angelina (5) who attend the Dutile School. “Every day working in Billerica and on Beacon Hill, I think of my family and I think of the families in Billerica. I understand that we have an obligation to provide our children with a bright future with opportunity to find success and not be saddled with huge debt and high taxes. Our families deserve a state government that is responsive to the people and isn’t plagued with waste, fraud, and abuse” said Lombardo.
Lombardo made note of how strongly Billerica has performed in comparison to our neighboring communities. “On a per capita basis, Billerica is outperforming our neighboring communities in our receipt of state aid. We’ve been granted the largest grant in the revised MSBA program history, and sidewalks on Boston Road in the center are being constructed in part with state funding. I’m proud of the work Senator Donnelly and I are doing on behalf of the Town of Billerica. We’ve really been able to deliver for this community” commented Lombardo.
Looking forward to the prospects of another term as State Representative, Lombardo commented, “I will continue my efforts to make government accountable to you. I will continue to bring funding back to our communities, created a business climate that promotes job growth, stand up for family values, and work to stop illegal immigration in Massachusetts. I promise that each and every day, I will continue to be a voice for the taxpayers of Billerica and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.”
